Are you worried about your roof?
Roof repair is a tricky topic. Every roof is different, and what requires a full replacement on one home may be a small fix on another.
But there’s one thing we know for sure: when your roof starts showing any of these signs, it’s time to call in the experts and ask about a repair ASAP.
Shingles are the main safeguard between you and the mercy of the elements. When they get damaged, your roof might not be protecting you and your family as it should be.
Every few months, have a thorough look at your shingles and keep an eye out for signs of wear and tear. Have any shingles bent or curled? Are there some that have cracked or that are missing entirely? Are any wet and look to be retaining moisture instead of draining it?
You must replace damaged shingles as soon as possible.
No matter what materials you use and how well your roof is constructed, it will naturally degrade over time.
Nails rust. Wood wears out and rots. Seals and connections start to disintegrate. You should regularly inspect your roof for any areas that appear to be sagging or drooping, as this is a clear sign of materials that are nearing the end of their prime.
If you’re seeing any of these warning signs, you need to contact a roofer for an inspection before the problems get any worse.
What’s your roof’s primary purpose? To keep you covered, of course! And if water is affecting your roof, it won’t be able to keep you dry for long.
The easiest way to check for roof water damage actually takes place inside. Head up to your attic (or whatever floor is closest to your roof) and look for leaks, water spots, or mold.
Another telltale sign of water damage is moss on the outside of your roof. While this doesn’t necessarily your roof needs to be repaired, you should still consult an expert to see if there is any risk to your home.
When a roof is in need of repair, it’s going to let in water. But water damage isn’t always as obvious as leaks and mold.
Look at the exterior of your roof as well as the walls and ceilings inside. Are you seeing any stains, unusual patterns, or peeling paint?
If you spot any damage and suspect a faulty roof may be the cause, you need to schedule a roof repair before it gets more extensive.
Head up to your attic once again. Can you see any daylight coming through?
As materials degrade (or if the roof wasn’t structurally sound to begin with), you may notice light filtering in through the roof itself or its connections. And if light can get through, water and cold certainly can!
When light is visible, it’s a sure sign that there’s an issue that should be addressed as soon as possible.

“Kevin came out on a couple days notice for a free estimate. He and his crew were able to replace the roof on my rental property ahead of their estimated schedule. They banged it out in one day and sent me photographs of the finished work. Great work and a nice team of people. 5 stars, would recommend! – Matthew
